Work on the new development, known as One Shelley Street, King Street Wharf, commenced in June 2007.

The finished building will complete the King Street Wharf precinct which consists of the KPMG & American Express buildings in addition the strata commercial, residential and retail establishments, thus ensuring King Street Wharf maintains its reputation as an exciting, and vibrant harbourside venue.

One Shelley Street, King Street Wharf

One Shelley Street will be a high quality visual landmark with its external diagrid structure and internal atrium, giving the King Street Wharf precinct a new dynamic in architecture.
The new development will be an eleven (11) storey 35,000m A-grade commercial office building with one (1) level of retail and ten (10) levels of commercial office space.  Macquarie Group will be the sole tenant with the building housing approximately 3,000 employees.
The building has been designed to establish new benchmarks in environmental sustainability and workplace functionality and is seeking to achieve world's best practice certification.

Construction Work

Construction work started in June 2007 and is scheduled to be completed by February 2009. Construction operating times are Monday to Friday (7am-7pm) and Saturdays (7am to 5pm) – As per Development Consent. There will be no work on Sundays or public holidays – As per Development Consent.
The proposed construction works have been designed to minimise impacts on existing retailers, adjacent tenants and residents and the general public.
Primary Entrance to the site for construction vehicles will be via Shelley Street. Access will also be via Lime Street Gates. Construction deliveries will primarily occur via Shelley Street or from a crane loading zone on Lime Street.

Key Construction Stages and Timing

Stage 1: Site Establishment & Preliminary Works (completed)
Stage 2: Superstructure: August 2007 to January 2008 (completed)
Stage 3: Building Envelope: January 2008 to May 2008
Stage 4: Building Fit-out & Finishes Fit-out: January 2008 to November 2008
Stage 5: Final Fit-off: September 2008 to February 2009

Noise Monitoring

An acoustic consultant has been monitoring the noise produced as a result of construction on a regular basis since commencement of the project. To date the site has operated within the approved limits. This will continue to be monitored until completion of the project.
Particular attention will be paid to managing the additional noise produced from the demolition works which are being undertaken over the next few months.
